Abilities are Coming Online
So, at the bottom is the ability bar, where abilities that can currently be used are shown. You can see they give you a tooltip, and there's an unlocalized one called "harass" right next to Attack.
In-world, hovering on an ability gives you feedback about the range of the ability, and suggested targets. You can click on one of those targets to execute the ability.
The harass ability, on success, places a "harassed" aspect on the target, with a value of 3. "harassed" is an aspect that can be consumed in a couple of situations, such as when the subject is attacked, or attacking, to give the subject a disadvantage in that context.
The attack ability, in fact most any ability, will automatically consume any aspects that are applicable to the situation. So in this case you can harass a monster with one hero, then attack with another for a bonus to damage.
I'm excited that this is coming together. But before I dive into ability design, there's a big hole with visualization. Right now the only way I know any of that stuff with aspects is going on is because I set a breakpoint. So I need to work on surfacing all that, so that it's obvious what's going on, and further, so that it's obvious what is going to happen when you use an ability.
Once that's done it will be time for a little bit more game design, and with a few more ui improvements we should be ready for a playtest! I'm excited to start getting some more feedback on our direction.
